Jordanian Sand Castles

We were able to visit two of the desert crusader castles last week.  We took our torches and wondered down the deep dark secret passages of Shobak.  We also enjoyed the views of Karak, a very well preserved castle.  Both castles are set high above the valleys to aid in defending the castles.

Morning Bus

A little fresh air after breakfast, to start the day off. Bike races and frisbee tend to be the morning activities while the kids wait for the school bus.

Ajloun Forest

This past weekend we took a short trip to the Ajloun Forest to see a new, up and coming climbing spot in Jordan.  We had a great trip.  We stayed overnight in cabins close to the cliffs.  Above, is Bryce climbing high to get mom a wild purple flower for her birthday.
We hiked, picnicked, climbed and played in the forest.( Areesa, staying warm during the picnic.)
We came back to celebrate a triple birthday week with Bonnie, Beth and Lila.  Ramiro and the kids made us an amazing carrot cake!
