Climb High

These are a few pictures of Bryce at the park across the Chao Phraya River. It is fun taking the ferry across, there is a great playground on the other side.

Walk'n Shoes

Since Bryce is walking now we needed to get him his first pair of walking shoes. He loves them. Everywhere we went, he showed his shoes off with pride. All the ladies seemed to see the smiles and commented more than usual on how adorable he is.

Birthday Dinner

Ramiro came home early from his business trip. An added bonus since it was my birthday. I have been wanting to go to a restaurant I have heard about from many people, the hotel Banyan Tree's, Vertigo. Pictured above, on top of the tallest center building, view from our balcony. It is on the 61st floor of the building, an open air venue. Not for those with a fear of heights. It was extremely windy. A gorgeous view. It looks like you are on top of the world.

You can see our condo from here (click on the picture to make it larger). In the upper left the rain that brought us inside after a half an hour. After dinner we went to the 52 floor to see the famous Banyan Tree.

It was nice to have Ramiro home to celebrate.

I can if I want to ...

Well Bryce can walk, however, most of the time he does not want to so we crawls around. Well we have tried and tried to capture him walking and this is what we could get.

Brush'um

Grandma Jane sent Bryce an electric tooth brush. We were having trouble getting Bryce to cooperate when it came time to brush his teeth. Now he loves it. He goes to the drawer and pulls out his tooth brush and uses it on his own (with a little follow up by mom or dad).

In 1492......

Columbus sailed the ocean blue. And what did columbus feed his crew? Well not enough fruit for starters, since they had scurvey. So our crew had a fruit try, fish (ok, goldfish crackers), and then we ordered from Beirut (a yummy Lebanese Retaurant). We enjoyed an afternoon of swimming and chit chat. A few of the dad's joined us for this playgroup.

Trader Vic's Buffet

Across the Chao Phraya River (the River of Kings) the Marriott Hotel host Trader Vic's a well known restaurant around the world. On Sundays they serve a fabulous all you can eat buffet, a bit pricey but worth the investment. Some of our favorite dishes there included a fresh sushi bar, salad bar, Indian tandoori: chicken, lamb, seafood cold and grilled seafood: including grilled lobster tails, There were a few signature items to order form the kitchen which were better than the buffet the Jamaican Jerk Chicken dish was to die for, this was also Bryce's favorite. After all that you can indulge in a chocolate bar and dessert buffet. If that was not enough to get you there, they include a live jazz band and all you can drink "Mai Tai" cocktails.Bryce loved the ferry boat to and from the Saphan peir.

The Lost World

Emporium Mall has a large dinosaur exhibit going on this week The Lost World. Bryce and I have gone twice this week to see it, he loves the animals and seeing the life size replicas of dinosaurs. The exhibits are amazing there is a small zoo, if you click on the link you can see some of the animals pictured. We loved the pitch dark room that has about 350 fireflies all communicating with each other by shining their tail lights. Other animals displayed are a sloth, snakes, lizards, turtles, elephant, alligators, crocodiles, cassowary bird, along with many other birds and animals.

Bryce did not want to feed the elephant this time he was a bit frightened.Bryce has always loved to look at fish. We had the tank when he was first born. He still loves to watch fish, sharks, frogs and stingrays. Thank goodness Bangkok has an abundance of aquariums.

Tides of Krabi

Last week Bryce and Bonnie visited Krabi. There were three other couples and two of them had toddlers Bryce's age. We arrived in the dark of the night and by longtail boat during high tide. We could see shilouets of the mountains, as the longtail sailed past the tall cliffs, it made the anticipation for morning like Christmas. Krabi is a peninsula, however, you have to travel by boat due to the enormous mountains. When we woke up it was beautiful. We could see the cliffs tower over our private walled in patio. The room was just as amazing, it was a villa with a koi pond outdoor shower, cold water Jacuzzi, and a spacious room (also an indoor shower). The resort was so peaceful. One of the days we were there our group hired a boat to take us to Poda Island. The kids and adults loved it. We played in the sand, swam with the fish and had a picnic lunch (We were famous for a moment when a paparazzi crew stalked while we feed the babies).The final day we were there it rained most of the day. It was still nice to relax as all the ladies enjoyed a spa day. That evening when we left a tractor drove us to our boat since the tide was so low. Once we got to the otherside it was a walk to the peir over sand, sea, and coral. Thank goodness for sandles. What a difference the tide makes.
