Wadi Rum

Bryce's best friend's family was heading down to Wadi Rum for camping and rock climbing and asked us if we wanted to go along.  We said yes and got ready for an adventure.
Wadi Rum is a huge desert with massive mountains of sandstone jetting out of the sand.  The rock formations are breath taking.
We were there three nights.  The first night we stayed at a Bedouin camp - where they have food and a "tent" already setup with beds and even running water.  We got there late and arrived at the village after dark where we met our Bedouin guide who lead us about 30 minutes into the desert across sand to the camp.  We ate dinner, gazed at the stars (We never have seen so many stars), and went to bed.
The next morning we drove another 40 minutes into the desert to our camp for the next two nights.  There was a group of rock climbers from Amman, we meet up with them at the camp site.  We setup our tent while the kids explored the sand dunes.  Our friends went rock climbing and a few of us took the older kids on a hike to explore the rocks and sand.  We climbed some rocks, hiked all around with the kids (they wanted to explore), played in the sand, and had to defend our food from "wild" camels.
The final day we were able to do an Adults hike, a bit more adventurous.  The hike was challenging, quite fun, with breath taking views.
Here are a few pictures.
