Come Back, Cat

In memory of Scoop "Dude", may you eat all the whip cream from the clouds of heaven. You will be missed.

Bryce plays with two kittens.

Come here, cat. I like you, cat.

Oh, you were playing.
Well, you scared me, cat.
That's why I pushed you.

You can come back, cat.

Closer.

Closer.

That's it. Just a little more.
Oh, cat!
I hear your motor.

From the book by Joan Nodset.

Turkey Day 2009

Happy Thanksgiving.
We had a fabulous holiday. Hope that everyone enjoyed their turkey dinner.
Making pies,

coring apples.

Our evening started with our friends Samantha, Ben and their daughter Jordan. Our neighbors and friends Galanne, Kesate and their son Mosisa joined us for dessert.

Enjoying dinner.

Bryce was stuffed to the brim, but still yelled "MORE PIE!!!"

Near The Thai-Burma Border

On day two of our trip to north-west Thailand we visited 3 Pagodas Pass. The beggining of the Burma-Thai railway. So close to Myanmar (Burma) but, not past the pole, we have seen Burma.
Click on the map below for more detail.

3 Pagodas

This is a bad picture yet it shows the action. This monk throws lucky beads over your head and he did not miss once, you can see the beads land around my neck too.

The Lost City

Sangkhlaburi which is close to the Burmese/Thai border holds some of Thailand's hidden treasures that most expats, tourists and even Thai nationals have never seen or knew existed. After Thailand's famous wet season each year, late November, there is a chance to dive some of the submerged temples and pagodas which are almost completely dry and visible for most of the year.

Getting gear to the boat.

Two of the three temples. The third is in the middle of the others, but is completely covered and remains that way year round.

Top of a submerged temple.

Check out these references on Google Earth for a look at the temples, all these points of reference are close or right on the sites we visited;
